We did the Rome at Twilight tour with Mario and I have to say.. It was absolutely fantastic! I can't say enough good things about Mario, he was just superb. I've been on many other tours with other companies and Mario was by far the best! His knowledge and personality were first class and he really made our trip to Rome so much better. Subject: Charming and Thought-Provoking Guides

Hello there,

We happily decided to book several tours in Rome with Through Eternity after we saw them on Rick Steves' Europe website. Robert was our guide for the Underground Rome tour and he was excellent and punctual. He introduced us to his scholarly background and it was a wonderful way of informing us of his point of view. He was illuminating and also explained the historical context for each site in a very accessible way. Moreover, he was charismatic and thoughtful about the architectural integrity of each place visited. He was also resourceful in finding alternative sites (when the original sites were unavailable for touring). Robert was a great tour guide and managed to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time.

The second tour I had was The Ancient City In-Depth Experience which was guided by Giovanni. As a tour guide, I found him relaxed, yet professional with an engaging attitude. It was fantastic that he went in-depth with the archaeological side of the sites and provided the necessary cultural context for each place. Furthermore, I was impressed that he showed great patience in answering the vast amount of questions he received. He was also mindful of the physical abilities of the group (e.g. allotted appropriate resting times for younger and older group members). Additionally, he was highly informative about the historical and geological aspects of sites and I found this really resonated with my interests.

The Vatican Museums and Saint Peter's Basilica tour was guided by Cinzia and she was very prompt, enthusiastic and relatable. We loved the depth her art history background brought to the tour and were impressed how easily she manoeuvred our group in crowded areas of The Vatican. In addition, her historical knowledge in general was quite extensive and aided in understanding the nuances of each art piece (as well as the related time periods). The tour was shortened slightly at the end due to St. Peter's Basilica being partially closed for Easter celebrations, but that was an unforeseeable circumstance.

We were so pleased with the aforementioned tours that we re-booked The Ancient City In-Depth Experience. As mentioned above, our guide Cinzia was highly professional and showed even more of the breadth of her knowledge at these ancient sites. It was great that she managed to keep the group upbeat despite the horribly rainy weather. Unfortunately, the Senate was closed, so we didn't get a chance to see and explore the interior of it. We were very impressed with Through Eternity in general, particularly for providing a bonus aspect of this tour at no extra charge (the underground and third tier levels of Colosseum). Cinzia covered a lot of informational background for the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill in a short amount of time (this part of the tour was modified to allow for the bonus tour at the Colosseum).

Each of our guides from Through Eternity were charming, highly educated, and thought-provoking. We would not hesitate to recommend them to others as well as take tours from them again in the future.

Subject: Entertaining and Enlightening!

We really enjoyed the In-Depth Vatican tour. Our favorite part was the picture gallery. John’s knowledge of the art as well as the “dirt” on the artists was entertaining and enlightening. It also provided the background that allowed us to better appreciate the remainder of the tour. I took my mother and sister on the tour and I plan to have my wife take her mother on the same tour later this year. John also did a very good job of pulling us off to the side on occasion to discuss things to avoid the crowds.

Subject: Maurizio was a fantastic guide!

We thought Maurizio was a fantastic guide! He did a great job of explaining historical details and he kept all of us interested! We were a mixed crowd of Mom, Dad , two boys and two girls ages 12-18. He even got us an exclusive entry into the basement area of the Colloseum. Wow! We were thrilled to be the only tourists in that section!

Maurizio guided us to his favorite pizzeria for lunch. We would highly recommend him!

Dear Friends,

We would like to say thank you for the fantastic tour we had with Eugenia Dandrea on 3/4/13. (IN DEPTH TOUR OF THE VATICAN MUSEUM) We had already been there at least 4 -5 times (accompanied by books) but only this tour gave us a completely different experience. We have never had such an “In- Depth“ experience before. She made us understand for the first time the development of the paintings of different times in the Renaissance and on.

She was very kind and illuminating, and very attentive to our needs. A very special, wise, knowledgable guide..

Francesca did a fabulous job of guiding us through the very crowded Vatican. She was very knowledgeable and personable. We enjoyed our tour very much, and there is no way our 4 children would have been entertained through all the exhibits without Francesca, who kept it interesting and fast-moving. Subject: Two Excellent Tours with Luca and Caterina

Our tour with Luca was excellent. He was understanding in the beginning of the tour when we had to make a few phone calls due to being pickpocketed on the metro. He gave a very professional tour but was approachable and friendly. The information was thorough and interesting. We felt that the Vatican would have been overwhelming without his expertise. Thank you for a great day.

Then, our tour with Caterina was excellent from start to finish. She explained the history of all sights thoroughly and made the experience fun and memorable. She was quite knowledgeable and interesting. We would recommend the tour to anyone.

Subject: the most WONDERFUL guide!

John was the most WONDERFUL guide we had in Italy….. by far the VERY BEST out of the 4 tours we did! In hindsight I wish that we had booked our other 3 tours with Through Eternity vs the leading competitor. John was knowledgeable, entertaining and brought ancient Rome to life for me and my 15 year old daughter. I cannot say enough good things about him --- it was a long day with a lot of walking but the entire experience was fascinating and at the right pace… it also helped that we had beautiful weather.
At the end of our 8 day trip I asked my daughter what her favorite part was… she said it was the tour with John, especially the Colosseum portion.

Thank you John and Through Eternity!!! If/when we return, we will definitely book through you…. And I will be certain to let anyone I know what a class act operation you have.

Subject: Excellent Family Tour With Cinzia!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Cinzia. In addition to learning much more about the Vatican, its art and history than we ever would have on our own, it was like we had our own private crash course in Italian art, history, and religion! Even though the tour was more expensive than most of the others I found, I have no regret and feel the quality of the knowledge Cinzia shared was excellent. Her passion for what she was describing made it interesting to everyone in our group--even our 17 year old son who could have been easily bored with a less dynamic and informative guide. I really feel that this experience set us up to enjoy the other artistic treasures in Italy at a much higher level than we otherwise would have. Thanks Cinzia!
