Subject: Knowledge, Enthusiasm, Perspective, and Personal Warmth
I just want to tell Through Eternity how much we've appreciated your guides -- Anna on Nero's Rome, Ivana on the Vatican Museum/St. Peter's, and Robert on Stroll of the Artists. We had Ivana and Robert to ourselves for the latter two tours, and were extremely impressed by their knowledge, enthusiasm, perspective, and personal warmth. It can't be easy communicating true enthusiasm for tours one has done many times, but Ivana and Robert did just that. Ivana, especially, was memorably wonderful in very tough circumstances (the human crush of the Vatican Museum). She maintained poise and a sense of wonder in an environment that was more like Tokyo subways at rush hour than a true museum. We parted company with Ivana and Robert feeling as though we'd spent times with an interesting, deeply informed friend, not a guide going through the motions.
Through Eternity has made our first visit to Rome just that: our first visit to Rome. We cannot wait to come back and explore in depth all the wonderful, fascinating things your guides showed us. Having come to Rome after some time in Paris, our first reaction to the city, I'm ashamed to admit, was, "What's the big deal?" Especially because of the crushing crowds everywhere, we wondered if the Rome of legend was lost before we got here. Anna, Ivana, and Robert unearthed the Rome people have loved for centuries, and made clear exactly what the big deal is. (Not that Rome has anything to prove to the likes of us, but we very much appreciate having our eyes opened so brilliantly.) We are very grateful. Many thanks.
Mario then kept the winning streak alive, and then some. Our tour of the Borghese Gallery with him was superb. He has a vibrant sense of art history that brings the works alive, and his good humor and effervescence are contagious. Mario arrived at our hotel in a torrential rainstorm with window-rattling thunder exploding above us, yet he maintained his positive approach. A friend of my wife's had suggested that a guide is not necessary for the Borghese, but that's completely untrue. The difference between Mario and no guide was the difference between High-Def 3-D and black & white 2-D. The gallery's collection is so overwhelming that a visit would be an eye-glazing, trot-from-room-to-room experience without an expert to guide one to the best pieces and explain not only the allegorical symbolism of Renaissance art, but the exciting breakthroughs in technique and perspective so many of the works represent.
As I said yesterday, Through Eternity has been our much-valued guiding light during our Rome visit. Much more so than, say, Paris, Rome, with its layer upon layer of history and beauty and its overwhelming crowds, demands expert guidance to save visitors from getting totally lost, and on every tour Through Eternity delivered beyond our expectations. Again, we are very grateful. Until next time,
Bill and Cathy
Subject: Wonderful experience
I am thrilled to return an email on our experience with Ivana in Rome on October 3,2013. We had a 1 1/2 hour train ride from our port in Chitavecchia to Roma Termini, we arrived to find Termini to be a very large train station and it took us a few minutes to find the Nike Store where we were to meet our guide. To our pleasant surprise we found Ivana waiting for us and as we were about 15 minutes late she was trying to contact us to make sure we were not lost. From that moment on we were treated to one of the best days of our six port cruise.
Ivana was informative without being exhausting, she moved quickly wnd efficiently to allow enough time to get all the highlights of Rome to be seen in a day. She maneuvered the city with confidence and ease to find the right transportation to get us to our next stop, all the while informing us of the history of all that we saw. We went to a great restaurant near the Vatican for one of the best meals of our trip, we had time for gellato at the end of the day, snuck in the Pantheon and Piazza Nervona just because we had a little extra time, that was a real bonus for me as the Pantheon was a place I did want to see. She found a cab and walked us to our train with 15 minutes to spare, this was important for the guys as they were nervous we would miss our train. Ivana was more than we expected, her pleasant manner and friendly way made our one day tour a true success, I cant thank her enough.
I will have no problem recommending your company and Ivana to friends, family and collegues at work. I felt we received a good value for our payment. The lines at the Collusseum were so long and we were wisked right by them and into the arena. With out this we would have needed a week to see all that we saw with her. At first I was not going to do a tour of Rome, we were going to just walk aound the city and see few sights. One evening I googled, "How to see Rome in a day" and your company came up first, I never researched any other tour. The people who I was in contact with through email in the begining were also great. They were helpful and responded quickly to all my questions, there was never any need for me to look further. I felt very confident this tour was right for our group and as I said earlier it was.
Please, if you can, tell Ivana I will be thinking of her April 10, 2014!!
Subject: A most enjoyable experience
We had a most enjoyable experience with Thomas. He is a wealth of information and made our tour in Rome very enjoyable and educational. We were a small group which was a great and was able to answer our questions even as trivial as they might have been. What I really enjoyed was he was a tour guide that is not providing information by memorization, but really shows he enjoys the art and culture of the city. We could pose questions to him somewhat related to the site, but he could go much deeper into content. A great tour. I would definitely recommend this tour and him as the tour guide. Karen Paulsen
Subject: Made everything come alive
We enjoyed enormously our Vatican tour with Cinzia. She is extremely knowledgeable and made everything come alive. Not to mention her lovely personality. Thank you!
Trough Eternity delivered everything promised and more. We will definitely use them in the future.
Subject: Professional, intimate, eye-opening
Through Eternity was 100% professional, intimate, and eye-opening. I was so happy to have Linda twice, on both the Vatican tour and the Ancient City experience! We are two college students and really just wanted a basic orientation of these places we already had a general history knowledge about, and she really grounded what we already knew with everything I expected and little details I didn't expect. I was also SO HAPPY with the communication with the company when we were horribly late to the tour - we were afraid we weren't going to make it, but were so grateful the group waited for us. Not every group would do that! Very pleased with the tours. Thank you so much!
Subject: We couldn't believe our luck
We couldn't believe our luck when met our guide ,Luca , for the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill tour on September 6th 2013. We had read rave reviews about him and he certainly didn't disappoint us as he led us on a journey into the past. Once again that day was full of “ I really cant believe I’m here” moments. I actually saw where Julius Caesar was cremated!! The ruins and monuments looked stunning on that day, The sky was deep blue and the sun shone brightly. We forgot the heat as the images were burned into our memories.
Luca’s passion for Roman history was transferred to us all and over lunch ,we discussed what a phenomenal guide he is
The tour was six hours of magic. Now we are home again and when we look at the photos taken on that day, we remember Lucas stories, his wonderful stories.
Just imagine seeing the place where Romulus and Remus were born well we did!
And our tour of the Vatican Museums and St. Peters with Katia on September 4th 2013 was an unbelievable experience. Just being in Rome was a dream come true and Katia took us on an unforgettable journey and explained everything so thoroughly and in an animated manner that we were swept along. Her explanations of the Sistine Chapel enabled us to enjoy and marvel at Michelangelo's masterpieces. As a non Catholic I needed a lot of things explained and Katia very graciously answered the lot.
I still cannot believe the vivid colour in the paintings – you really do have to be there to see them in person.
I found that I had to return to the gift shop to buy a book about the art because I couldn't remember all of the details. I can now use the book to jog my memory.
Our tour of the Vatican Museums was certainly one of the highlights of our trip to Rome.
We will whole heartedly recommend your company to our friends and family.
Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Subject: Delightful guide in Florence
Dear Through Eternity,
Sorry for the shortness of this reply but we are only on mini iPad. We thought the tour was excellent. The content and concentration on a few items of interest in the city was really most impressive. It meant learning detail to remember rather then a wash of masses of information which becomes confusing when one is travelling.
Our guide Constanza was delightful, with a calm appearance and a touch of humour which was really appreciated. We loved the sharing of her favourite ice cream shop too!
We will certainly be referring our travelling friends to your tours, actually we have done so already.
Thank you and your guide for the wonderful experience of a part of your beautiful city.

Subject: Guide was gracious and engaging
We had a customized tour for our small group of 4 and John, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable throughout. He was mindful of our time and respectful of what we could and could not accomplish. He was gracious, engaging and absolutely a wonderful resource throughout! Highly endorse and recommend this format of a walking tour.
Subject: Excellent day in Pompeii
re: Pompeii and its daily life
The tour was awesome!!! Our guide was very informative and knowledgeable. Was an excellent day even though we started with some rain.
Alessandra was a marvelous guide and we would recommend her and your company without hesitation.
I would also like to say that the car service was excellent ---great driver ---would certainly recommend him as well.
Subject: Professional, friendly and knowledgable guides in all three cities!
We would like to commend our guide in Florence at the Ufizzi for her wonderful tour for us. Her name is Magdalena. She was a very knowledgeable and cordial young woman. We thoroughly enjoyed the museum with her as our guide.
Francesca was our guide in Naples and Pompeii. Absolutely first-rate.
Mario, also, was entertaining and provided a great deal of information to us.
We are very pleased with all three of the tours and would not hesitate to recommend your company.
Your guides are professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable.

Subject: A guide can put it all into context
We could not have been more pleased with the tour we booked or with Anna. She and it were amazing. We particularly liked that she brought a book with her that illustrated what the ruins looked like originally. While some people can just use their imaginations, the illustrations really added a lot to her lecture. Anna was a virtual fountain of information and knowledge. We could have listened to her talk for days because of her breadth and depth of knowledge. She was also friendly and pleasant, making the day one of the major highlights of our two weeks in Europe. We initially thought it was worth the price just to beat the lines....but we were quite wrong! One can "see" the ruins on their own but would miss so much not having someone like Anna to put it all into context.
Thank you and please thank her for us as well.

Subject: Superb history and anecdotes
Michael Karris was an exceptional guide; fun, great banter, superb history and anecdotes. We highly recommend his expertise. On top of that there was not a moment wasted. He filled in walks between sites with lots of info, legends, background.
Subject: Fun and very informative
This was outstanding! Your company was recommended to us by friends because of the size of your groups and the knowledge the tour leaders have. Gregory was fun and very informative on the hidden facts and that made our trip more enjoyable.
Subject: Up Close and Personal
We took 3 tours in Rome--The Vatican Museums, The Colosseum, and Rome Twilight.
All three were superb. The tour guides were walking encyclopedias. They were so up close and personal. I would recommend without hesitation. These tours are for people who thirst for knowledge. We got our fill.
Subject: Comfortable group size, fantastic tour!
The Uffizi Gallery tour was fantastic! Ludi did a wonderful job of giving us history and contemporary information. I thought the format was great, with getting into the museum in a timely manner. And the size of the group was small and perfect. We all felt very comfortable with our guide; and she was very gracious in helping with tips for eating and shopping. This was the best tour I had on my 12 day trip to Italy.
