- Do the costs of the tours include the entry fees?
- The tour costs do not include the entry fees to the sites. These will be purchased on site on the day of the tour. The Colosseum entry fee is 11 Euro and the Vatican Museums are 14 Euro.
- Can you bypass the lines or buy tickets in advance?
- The Vatican does not allow pre-purchase of tickets and all visitors must stand in the mandatory security screening line to buy tickets upon entry. We arrive at the Vatican Museums during the best time of day to ensure a good tour experience. For example, we arrive in early afternoon when the lines are quite small and fast, and sometimes there is no wait at all. In the case of any line time, no time will be wasted with your guide as they will use this time to set up the necessary historical background so you can fully enjoy the masterpieces when you view them.
- As for the Colosseum, we do not stand in the often long lines at the site's main ticket office, but use a special ticket window nearby instead where there are seldom lines.
- At sites where it is possible to make reservations to avoid lines, such as the Borghese Gallery, Uffizi and Accademia, we do make these reservations for you.
- Can my guide meet me at my hotel for private tours?
- We will be happy to meet you at your hotel it if is the city center.
- Hotels near the airport, on Aurelia Antica (behind the Vatican), or the Cavalieri Hilton are too far. Many have shuttles and our guides can meet them at the shuttle drop point in the center; or the you may take a taxi or public transportation to a pre-arranged meet point in the city
- Is transportation included? Will my guide have transportation when meeting at the hotel?
- Transportation is not included. When the guide meets you at your hotel, they will coordinate taxis, walking or public transportation to get to first tour destination. Private transportation can be arranged at an additional charge.
- Do your tours enter the Colosseum?
- Yes, all our tours of the Colosseum most certainly include a visit inside.
- Do you accept credit cards or how can I prepay?
- We do not accept credit cards. We ask that you pay your guides in cash in Euro.
- Can we split the price of a private tour with other couples?
- We keep private tours exclusive to one booking party, and do not combine separate reservations to form small groups. If you are interested in less expensive options, please refer to our Group Tour page.
- What is the policy for children?
- Children 7 and under tour for free. Children 8 – 11 pay half price in the group tours. Our guides are particularly adept at bringing the sights to life for children and keeping their energy and interest levels up. Please be aware, however, that they will still have to pay entry fees.
- We can pace our private tours to meet the interest and energy levels of children, recounting stories in a fantastic way which can be captivating for them. We recommend the 3 hours Col/Forum tour, the 3 hours Twilight tour of the fountains and piazzas which are often well-liked by children and the highlight of the Vatican and St. Peter’s in 4 hours instead of 5.
- Is there a Student discount?
- We offer a 30% discount for all students with valid ID (for group tours). For private tours with student groups, please contact us directly for pricing options.
- Are your private tours limited to 5 people since the prices are quoted for up to 5?
- No, we can take any size group for private tours. The base prices quoted are for 1-5 people, with each additional person over 7 years old being 20 Euro more for tours under 5 hours and 25 Euro more for tours over 5 hours.
- How many people are in your group tours?
- We limit our group tours to no more than 15 people per guide to allow for an enjoyable experience for all clients.
- Can you guarantee me a particular guide?
- We will be happy note a request for a particular guide but can not guarantee their availability due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness.
- Can you provide wheelchairs or strollers? Or, what do you suggest for those with difficulty walking in our group?
- We do not have wheelchairs, but they can be rented at the Vatican directly through them. For those in wheelchairs, strollers or with trouble walking, Rome’s historic center can be difficult to navigate. The Colosseum has an elevator inside, but the Forum is not possible for wheelchairs and challenging for walking difficulties with its large, uneven stones and areas. For clients with limitations on our private tours, we can certainly alter the tours itinerary and path to accommodate – for example, instead of going into the Forum, we can view it from the modern road that parallels it.
- We are happy to pace and shape your private tour according to your needs. If there is someone in your party with difficulty, your guide will gladly stop and take breaks as needed.
- Do you use headsets?
- For Vatican tours with over 5 people (group and private), we use headsets as they are made mandatory for 5 or more people. The fee is 2 Euro. This allows for a more enjoyable experience as you will always be able to hear your guide.
- I've tried emailing you without a response. When can I except one?
- We make every effort to reply to you within 48 hours and often do so in less than 24 hours. However, sometime our emails are seen as spam and are blocked by your email servers or sent to your spam folder. Please check there first and/or lower your security settings. Another option is to send us an email directly (not through the forms on our website) to office@througheternity.com. This way, your email servicer will note our address as “safe.”
