Quick overview: We begin with a full account of the changes that occurred throughout the centuries to the present day square of the Spanish Steps. We then arrive at the Trevi Fountain after a brief stop in front of the Propaganda Fide building which captures the rivalry between Bernini and Borromini, the two great architects of the baroque period. Following an elaborate explanation of the Trevi Fountain's construction and the symbols within it, we reach Hadrian's Temple otherwise known as the Pantheon. Here we will remain at length, because there never can be enough hours to recount the many stories contained within this leviathan. We cross Piazza Sant'Eustachio and go through to Piazza Navona where you'll receive a complete description of the piazza and its legends, the lake festivals held by the nobles in the 1700's and the divinities of the four rivers. Finally, to Piazza del Campidoglio where only after you've been astonished by its beauty and the perfection attained by Michelangelo, will we delight you with Rome's most beautiful night-time view, which till then we'll keep our secret.

The Themes: Within Rome, the city of great piazzas and unforgettable fountains, exist two cities: the baroque city and the renaissance city, the city of Bernini and the city of Michelangelo, the city of Borromini and that of Raphael. Cities similar and yet profoundly different which together, side by side, create the backdrop for our unforgettable romantic strolls. They are locations full of stories and mysteries. For instance, why did Bernini decide to sculpt a sunken boat for the fountain of the Spanish Steps? Why did the architect of the Trevi Fountain love the sound of the water flowing from his marble sculptured Tritons more than the fountain itself? Did Michelangelo want the ancient equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius as the centre piece of his splendid Piazza Campidoglio? Why does popular legend recount that the great central eye in the dome of the Pantheon was opened by the horn of a large devil that sprang forth from a demon possessed body? How were the monolithic columns, of an arcade more than twenty meters long and with a diameter of more than 2 meters, transported intact from Egypt? This is only a fraction of the mysteries that will be unveiled to you during our tour. You'll return to stroll through those same places, loving and enjoying them , enriched by the stories of the men who created them.
