Gracelyn Monaco

Gracelyn is a native New Yorker living and working in Rome. She graduated from Iona College in New Rochelle, NY with a degree in Speech Communications Studies and a minor in Advertising. Gracelyn also studied classical theater and voice. She was inducted into the National Honor Society for Speech Communications in 1987 and in the same year accepted into Yale School of Drama’s, British American Drama Academy in Oxford England for a Summer session.

A few years later she moved to San Francisco, CA and studied Voice Over. She has one video game credit for SEGA as the Voice of the main character in the game Grossology and other minor characters. In 1997 she transferred back to New York and worked as a Trade Show Manager organizing four shows a year at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City. During these years she couldn’t visit Italy enough and was fascinated by its history, beauty, art and architecture. In 2006 after her 13th trip she made a decision to follow her heart. She quit a great job and showed up in Rome with three suitcases.

She started by Volunteering with the choir in the Pantheon and at Rome’s famous cat sanctuary (the site of Julius Ceaser’s assassination!). There she gave tours of the site helping to promote their work with the many cat colonies of Rome. By 2007 Gracelyn was introduced to TE and has been happily collaborating and guiding with them ever since.
