duration 1.5 hours
With breathtaking views, rugged shorelines and a fabulously diverse array of colourful plants and flowers, the Amalfi Coast boasts one of the world’s most spectacular natural landscapes. A series of picture-perfect fishing villages clinging precariously to the jagged cliffs south of Naples, the meandering roads linking the towns to the port cities of Salerna and Sorrento offer epic, unforgettable white-knuckle drives as they hug the coast. A rich sensory world of grand villas and amazing hotels, windswept trees, terraced vineyards and cliffside lemon groves, get an immersive taster of the sights, sounds and smells of this marvellous region in the company of local guide Andrea, and see why the Amalfi Coast has been a UNESCO World Heritage sit in 1997. Across the crystalline waters of the Bay of Sorrento meanwhile lies jaw-dropping Capri, perhaps the most beautiful island in the Mediterranean. The rocky jewel’s extraordinary scenery has made it a haven for the rich and famous for nearly 2,000 years, from the time when the Roman emperor Tiberius retreated here to rule his domain far from the intrigues of the Eternal City. In more recent times a series of poets, artists, politicians and super-rich international jet set have fallen in love with the island’s magical charm - discover why on this exciting virtual adventure!
Hi I’m Andrea! A native of Naples, I’ve lived in the Campania region of Italy all my life, and I have a deep love for its art, archeology, music, architecture, cuisine, natural beauty and - of course - its people. I have shared this world with many, many visitors over the years, showcasing the vast range of this wonderful place. When I was 14 years old I started working as an actor in theatres, and this plays a central role in how I communicate on my tours today - I always try to put something theatrical into everything I do :-)

Come back to Sorrento
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FD4MfRLM9MI My first trip to Italy, after several years dreaming and planning, was an unforgettable hiking excursion along the Amalfi Coast--including Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, and Capri. Andrea took me back virtually, challenging me to dream about retracing my steps for real, with some new detours to smaller less touristic villages. This is a beautiful virtual tour, full of wonders and surprises for those of us lucky enough to have already been there and enticements for those of us who have not yet followed the trails along the coast and explored the villages. Andrea's unabashed love for southern Italy is, as always, balanced by a rare and welcome candor. He's not shy about acknowledging the not always happy impact of tourism on life in places like Positano, while never discouraging us from finding respectful and meaningful ways to tour. His detour to Capri is especially illuminating and generous, helping me to see dimensions of that island paradise that were not so obvious to me during my actual hikes. This tour perfectly complements Andrea's virtual tour of Ischia and Procida, though either tour also captivates independently of the other. Highly recommended. Especially with limoncello.
