Conor Kissane

Art Historian and Head of Content

via lungaretta in trastevere in rome

Conor is an art historian hailing from Co. Kerry on Ireland’s wild western coast. He fell in love with the chaotic beauty of the Eternal City the first time he came to Rome back in 2006,and has been living here full-time since 2018.

Conor holds a PhD in the History of Art from University College London, where he specialised in the role of violence in Renaissance painting. His academic writing has won various awards including the Association of Art Historians’ Postgraduate Dissertation Prize and the Oxford Art Journal Prize.

When he’s not writing articles and taking photographs for Through Eternity’s social media, you’ll either find him roaming the abandoned chapels of Rome’s most off-the-beaten-track churches or obsessively seeking out the perfect carbonara.
