Palermo is one of the most beautiful cities in Italy, where decadence and splendour live side by side. Its contrasting architecture stands testament to the passage of diverse cultures: Carthaginians, the Greeks, Romans, Normans, French and Spanish - the city’s cultural sights incorporate everything from Moorish architecture to Norman cathedrals. Baroque art, Norman and Byzantine architecture, beautiful mosaics, and medieval buildings and monuments spread all over the historic center - an extraordinary artistic tapestry that is the result of centuries of invasions. Palermo is famous too for its historic outdoor street markets, encompassing the traditions of Sicilian people. Ballarò is the largest and oldest market in the city - it's loud, smelly, and busy - Palermo at it's characteristic best. Join expert guide Andrea on this unique virtual tour to discover the many fascinating faces of Sicily's unique capital - see you in Palermo!

Hi I’m Andrea! A native of Naples, I’ve lived in the Campania region of Italy all my life, and I have a deep love for its art, archeology, music, architecture, cuisine, natural beauty and - of course - its people. I have shared this world with many, many visitors over the years, showcasing the vast range of this wonderful place. When I was 14 years old I started working as an actor in theatres, and this plays a central role in how I communicate on my tours today - I always try to put something theatrical into everything I do :-)

This is the second time I have taken this tour and it was even better this time. First of all, Palermo is STUNNING. IMO Sicily is one of the best kept secrets in Italy. Secondly, Andrea is truly an outstanding guide. He is so incredibly knowledgeable about the rich and diverse history, the different kinds of architecture, the culture and food, and the people. It's hard to keep track of the history, starting in 1130, but Andrea makes it so much clearer. This is a virtual tour that really gives you a little bit of everything. The beauty of this city is amazing. And Andrea's passion for his part of Italy makes it all the better. Trust me, you will LOVE this virtual tour.
Loved the tour of Palermo with Andrea. The mix of history, architecture, and current culture brought the city to life. I will have to visit Palermo some day.
