Last Sunday evening on the 11th of October, the ancient Colosseum was once again the main attraction in Rome as it came to life with a spectacular light show.
Celebrating the International Year of Light 2015, the show was free to the public and audiences came from far and wide to get a glimpse of the Colosseum as its never been seen before.
The ‘Golden Legend’ show didn’t disappoint the crowds with its lights, sound effects and live acrobatics, on the ground as well as in the air.
Like a journey through time, the Colosseum rose out of the ground above the ancient city, telling a story of wonders and fantasy. Displaying stunning underwater sequences to medieval scenes, the Colosseum was engulfed in flames, to futuristic starry special effects.
In its near 2,000 year existence, the Colosseum has witnessed some spectacular events, however this was one that the ancient Romans would have never envisioned themselves back in 70AD.
